Folio 30: Zeno
samsaran investigator 15
"A good mortician is never out of work," Zeno's father told him on one of their many rambling walks through the City's oldest cemetery. It was the family business, and repairing the oldest tombs was just one of the many tasks that they undertook. No philosophy about life or death could have prepared Zeno for that moment when an old corpse was disinterred, and realizing that he knew it.
He was staring at himself...or rather, a previous version of himself.
The shock of the incident turned his skin an unearthly shade of blue, and Zeno began to recall his former life in fits and flashes. Dedicating himself as a lawyer and a first-rate sleuth, Zeno hasn't let age slow him down. Not one for small talk and niceties, Zeno has a reputation for being quite the curmudgeon—a flaw that many are willing to put up with to access the wealth of information he has access to, or can easily gain.
